Windows Administrator (System Administrator)

System Administrator Job Duties:

 

  • Create, Delete, modify user accounts as reported through service request in a timely manner.
  • Support subset applications to support Exchange as a whole, monitoring the flow and delivery of messaging traffic to the Information Store.
  • Provide systems administration, monitoring troubleshooting, and problem resolution for the Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop environments.
  • Provide working knowledge of latest anti-virus software implemented to protect against virus attacks with the message system environment.
  • Administer and support on-premises Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Administer and support on-site Sharepoint installation.
  • Work in conjunction with IT Security.
  • Lead a conversion project to migrate large team of 500+ people to Win10.
  • Cross-training of less experienced staff.
  • Solve technical problems in a mixed OS environment of Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Configure and manage hardware and VM based Windows Server installations.
  • The operation, administration and maintenance / tuning of Windows OS to keep it up and running.
  • Maintain production systems with updates through SCCM.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot all aspects of server infrastructure.
  • Capacity management and performance tuning.
  • Ensure system security and data integrity.
  • Capacity management and performance tuning.
  • Use high-level communication skills to collaborate, influence and persuade team members and management inside and outside of the department.
  • Provide on call Level 3 support for all operational issues and outages relating to the infrastructure.
  • Support, develop, document, test, and implement engineering solutions.
  • Monitor system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
  • Ensure that records of system configuration are properly maintained.
  • Work with vendors to assist support activities.
  • Research and recommend innovative solutions and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Provide technical consultation in new systems implementation, new feature or function evaluations, and enhancement of existing systems.
  • Generate month end reporting metrics.

 

Mandatory Skills:

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years working experience as a Windows Administrator
  • Experience with SCCM, SEP, DLP
  • Windows 10
  • MCP, MTA, MCSA, MCSE or similar certification is a plus
  • 5+ years Working knowledge of Windows Server, Desktop, and Active Directory Administration
  • 5+ years Working knowledge of VMware ESX, VCenter, and Virtual environments
  • Experience scripting using PowerShell, VB, Perl, or Python
  • Experience documenting complex environments
  • Experience with project management, vendor management, and policy development
  • Ability to work in a team a small team environment
     

Preferred Skills

  • MCIT certification or other Microsoft certification equivalent
  • CCNA certification
  • Network troubleshooting experience
  • Experience in administration of SharePoint 2013 servers
